Habitat for Humanity – Carl’s Build 2019

A special thank you to all Brother Knights and Saint John XXIII families who attended the Habitat for Humanity Carl’s Build 2019 event on September 13/14, 2019 at Lithopolis United Methodist Church. The event was a tremendous success with nearly 160 volunteers from SJXXIII, LUMC and our greater community, we were able to help 2 families through our charitable efforts. Combined, our council volunteered 105 hours for the build with about 20 volunteers from our parish.

The first home will go to the Seenes family in Zanesville, OH (see photo above) and the second home will go to a US veteran and his family in Morehead, KY. Southeast Habitat will be having a blitz to erect the home in Zanesville on November 14th and 15th 8AM-5PM. The goal is to get the house up and under roof. After that, they will install the mechanicals for 3-4 weeks, then have a regular build schedule Wednesday-Saturday 9AM-4PM. I will send a follow up email to the council as the date approaches with additional details if anyone is interested in assisting.

Here are additional videos and photos from the build!
